ZincMedical develops infection prevention and healthcare/patient safety products designed to improve the quality of patient care, hospital resources and reduce costs.

The company was founded to address a specific  challenge in combating catheter-related bloodstream infections(CRBSI’s) . The CleanSite provides caregivers with an improved tool to help them effectively prepare the injection site. The CleanSite has been expanded to include additional products targeting infection prevention and healthcare/patient safety.

Recent changes in hospital reimbursement have only increased the pressure on hospitals attempts to combat hospital aquired infections (HAI) and to improve the quality of patient care while controlling costs. In the US alone, HAI’s are responsible for an estimated 2 million infections and $4.5 billion in excess healthcare costs.

Every year over 350,000 patients acquire BSI’s while in US hospitals that result in more than 90,000 deaths and significant costs to the healthcare system.

ZincMedicals mission is to develop products to help hospitals tackle the rise in hospital-associated infections (HAI’s) like CRBSI’s and bloodstream infections (BSI’s)  while improving the quality of patient care and reducing overall costs.
